a pep talk from me to me

Okay, Maddie. You can do this.

You can sit still for more than thirteen seconds; it's not that hard. You can be a grown up and wrangle the crazy amount of energy built up inside of you and use it for productive things. And Maddie, going to the park and playing on the swings doesn't count as productive. Neither does watching Pocahontas. Sorry.

You can sit and crank out these assignments even though Provo feels like heaven right now. You can stay sequestered inside and write papers instead of frolicking in the sunshine. Yes, Provo may have been temporarily transformed into the Garden of Eden, but that's no reason to lose your head and ignore huge  assignments. It smells like spring, I know, but guess what? It will smell like spring all spring long. You will have several months to stand in the grass and enjoy the crisp cleanness of spring air.

This is going to be a breeze. It won't make you want to claw your eyes out. When you finish these assignments, you will probably cry out in anguish, asking the universe why you couldn't have an infinite amount of such assignments. Doing homework isn't going to destroy the joy you are feeling. It won't ruin your great mood or tarnish this perfect day.

So stop blogging now and get to work!

P.S. Oh, and you're going to get As on all of these assignments. Just a heads up.
